SUMMARY:Mai Mai Mai live al Piano Terra – giovedì 08 marzo
Not Not Fun Records and Boring Machines. Nel 2015 è stato invitato al Liverpool Psych Fest.\n“Cutrone deserves admiration for how much he crams into such a short space of time, preventing the listener from ever locking the record into the straightjackets of genre and influence.” – The Quietus\n“Mai Mai Mai trades in energising blasts of biomechanical synth noise which snarl and throb like a demonically possessed star cruiser” – The Wire\n“Arcaicamente affascinante e musicalmente eccelso”- Sentire Ascoltare\n> maimaimaikr.blogspot.it/\n> maimaimai.bandcamp.com/\n:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::\n_ Thursday 08 March, 22h\nPiano Terra & TRoK! proudly present:\n* MAI MAI MAI [aegean tapes]\n> http://maimaimaikr.blogspot.it/\nFree entrance. Free donations encouraged.\nBorn on a small aegean island, Toni Cutrone aka Mai Mai Mai since when he was a child followed his parents travelling through Middle East and Europe, absorbing different cultures, atmospheres and sounds from the places where he was accidentally carried. Atmospheres so vivid that left lasting footprints in his music. Adding to that a 15 years long experience in the Italian underground scene, here Mai Mai Mai’s sound is born: a mix of drone and ambient, field recordings and soundscapes that lead us towards unknown ages at the border between old Europe and mysterious East…\nHis records are all titled with a letter of the Greek alphabet, from Theta (Boring Machines, 2013) to Delta (Yerevan Tapes, 2014), and finally con Phi, published in november 2016 by Not Not Fun Records and Boring Machines. As the last part of the Mediterranean trilogy, Phi pushes its sounds to an interzone between digital synthesis and rituals; the live execution is more and more “powerful and summoning: impressive cathedrals of beats, a voodoo ritual in an abadoned orbital station, surgery and apocalypse, boilings and artic winds, runes and alien languages” (The New Noise).\nDuring the last years, Mai Mai Mai played all around Europe sharing the stages with bands like Gnod, Silver Apples and many more. In 2015 he’s been invated to Liverpool Psych Fest.\n“Cutrone deserves admiration for how much he crams into such a short space of time, preventing the listener from ever locking the record into the straightjackets of genre and influence” – The Quietus\n“Mai Mai Mai trades in energising blasts of biomechanical synth noise which snarl and throb like a demonically possessed star cruiser” – The Wire\n“Arcaicamente affascinante e musicalmente eccelso”- Sentire Ascoltare\n
